Why This Race Matters

New development. Infrastructure decisions. School funding. Two major corridor plans along Route 1 and Route 10 are actively being written. The choices being made today will shape what this community looks and feels like for the next decade.

Dale residents deserve a supervisor they chose. A supervisor who is in those conversations asking the hard questions and making sure the community's needs don't get lost in the process. Being in the room is not enough. Dale deserves a supervisor who puts this community on the table and keeps it there.

That’s the kind of representation I’m running to deliver.

What I’m Focused On

  • Dale's roads and infrastructure need serious investment, not just maintenance. I will advocate for solutions that address real safety concerns and plan ahead for the growth that is already coming.

  • Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community. The Board of Supervisors controls how county dollars flow to our schools. I will make sure Dale's schools have what they need to succeed.

  • Development is happening whether we plan for it or not. I believe in growth that strengthens our community: thoughtful, transparent, and shaped by the people who live here.

I’m not new to Dale.
And I’m not new to this work.

I have lived in Dale for more than 33 years. I started my career here as a 911 dispatcher, went on to make history as the first Chief DEI Officer for the Virginia Department of Health, taught at Virginia State University, and built two businesses right here in this district. My parents still live here, and my daughters are growing up here.

So rooted in Dale isn’t a tagline for me. It’s just the truth.

Endorsed By

“Kathryn is part of a new generation of leaders working to move the needle forward on issues important to their communities,” said Amanda Litman, Co-Founder and President of Run for Something. “Run for Something is proud to back Kathryn as part of our latest class of endorsees who are challenging the status quo and working to secure lasting change for their neighbors.”

Dale needs someone who understands our community and will show up for it. Kathryn’s that person.
